Life of Pi
Although surreal in nature, this novel tackles ideas of spirituality, love, family and trust. How do we look at the life of this young man, stranded on a boat, in the middle of the ocean and how do we look at ourselves? Are we living metaphors that can relate, are we ‘in the same boat’? Can we identify with his struggles and the grappling’s he has within the context of his own life and see where we fall short? Or do we find moments of empathy in the idea of loss and self-introspection? All grade 12 learners will soon be asking these questions in their own lives. Join this webinar and find out how to explore these ideas and provide the best answers in your exam papers.

Poetry
Once may ask and one may answer. Oh what joy, what bliss.
To see why the man perspires, drops. When he gives her a kiss.
The rhyming schemes, for blush on cheeks and much pentameter used
Long winding curls, tales of husbands bashed, and beauteous wives abused.
Or is it love we look at here? With longing, with golden eyes.
Is it love we so deeply crave, or is it our demise
Join this webinar, you’ll enjoy it much. All grade encouraged to behave
Bring pen, paper and rhyming words. Full marks for you we’ll save.

It is better to have loved and lost, that to never have loved at all.
How true are these words? Are we contented in life, loving for a brief moment, only to have the hatred and disapproval of our families tear it away? How do we love? Why do we love? Why is it important to stand our ground for what we believe in, even if it kills us? These two youngsters had a tough time reconciling their families’ differences. Do you struggle too? I know we do. There are certain times we must stand up for what is right, and for what unites people and not divides them. This webinar will focus on these issues. The ideas of love, loss, pain, true love, what it means to feel your heart on your sleeve and how you can stand up what you know is right. Grade 10 learners, your thoughts and questions will be answered. Join us. Let us journey together through this topic and find ourselves within the subject matter. See you there.
